A link to classmate's research site.

I must admit part of the reason I got around to making this site/blog is because of my friend and classmate, Jesse. The U of M's Ethics REB suggested Jesse set up a site about his research so that participants in his research could check up on him and follow his progress.  I thought this was a brilliant idea, and since I'm preparing to submit my Ethics application tomorrow, I thought I'd throw something together to preempt the receiving the same advice. I've also had a complete website prepped in iWeb sitting on my computer for some time now and haven't gotten around to posting it...so the intention really was there.  Thanks, Jesse, for the kick in the butt!

In Jesse's case the suggestion of setting up a website is a little frivolous since he is working in small communities in Ecuador where his research participants don't have computers, let alone Internet connections.  Jesse is hoping to change that.  He's helping the community set up a tourism website and is mulling over ways to help them raise funds to get a computer and an Internet connection.

(P.S. I am unlikely to continue posting this frequently...I've messed around with the layout and content over the past several days...now I'll likely just pop in occasionally to add a quick update here and there).

First Post!

Starting up my very own website. Why? I always appreciate it when academics (professors and graduate students alike) have websites, so it's about time I got around to it.
I'll mainly just use it to post updates about my research progress.
